One-third of women in the UK will have an abortion before their 45th birthday. Yet midwife’s role pregnancy choice counselling, provision and support women’s decisions remains a taboo. This opinion piece calls for open conversation around termination better understanding among midwives as medical procedure. Recognising global impact unsafe abortion, author rallies midwifery profession to take clear pro-choice stance demand decriminalisation UK.
